MY STORY

I’ve always loved formulating my own products to control the ingredients, consistency, etc. Working in healthcare since 2008 meant my hands would often crack, burn and sometimes bleed due to over-washing. I created products for myself that helped keep my skin intact and healthy. I’ve created hundreds of facial, hair, bath and body products over the years.

During a very painful season of  my life I began to hate my body, even though I was in shape and exercised regularly. The raw truth was that during that season I became extremely disconnected from myself, and could only see my flaws and imperfections. 

​

For years, I quietly struggled with body shame and the feeling of “not enough.” Comparison and unrealistic ideals can erode a woman’s confidence in ways that are hard to name, but impossible to ignore. My healing journey changed how I see myself, my body, and what an impact self-care can create.

​

I keep parts of my personal story private, but I share what I've learned because I know how many women are quietly carrying the same ache.

We are naturally sensual beings, meaning we experience the world through our senses and feelings. I did deep internal work and started taking baths to calm my mind. Through divine inspiration, this became a ritual, and I started creating body products that allowed me to reconnect to myself through relaxation, textures, scents, and nourishing moisturizers. After years of this ritual, I received an unexpected gift from God. I started truly loving my beautiful body for the divine creation that it is. My body has been through so much, and I’m ever appreciative of the changes and the way she steadily shows up every day for me, even though she looks different than in times past.

As a Certified Nurse Midwife of many years, I have the sacred honor of being with women as they go through some of life’s most challenging times. I often hear them speak about their own struggles, insecurities, and  "imperfections," and I wish I could show them a mirror of what I see: a beautiful being that is whole and worthy, just as she is!

​

Though our circumstances may be different, in many ways, our story is the same, woven together by joy, heartache, sometimes feelings of inadequacy, and a journey toward self-love and acceptance.

Tranquility Apothecary & Body Co. was born out of my reverent awe for women’s amazing bodies, blended with nature and science to create indulgent and gentle products that aid relaxation, connect you to your beautiful mind and body through your senses, and show you what a beautiful gift your precious body is. It’s an invitation to women everywhere to come back into tenderness, peace, and body-trust, one beautiful ritual at a time.
